An international humanitarian NGO Mercy Corps is looking for a Field Monitor for an early recovery program being implemented in Abyan Governorate. The program will be supporting returnees and host communities and will have a strong hygiene promotion component both in the communities and in schools.GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Monitor will conduct trainings for local community volunteers and follow up their work in the field.nbsp

4.nbspnbsp nbspEnsure that tools and equipment use are certified and in good condition for use by regular inspection.
5.nbspnbsp nbspEnsure that personnel is trained and certified.
6.nbspnbsp nbspReport and advise on integrity of equipment and on required preventive and corrective actions
7.nbspnbsp nbspUpdate procedures with a view to applying most recent techniques.
8.nbspnbsp nbspSupervises the organization and implementation of the necessary tools and resources.
9.nbspnbsp nbspCarry out specific duties related to the job such as review of documentation procedures safety manual and other related documents in the blasting painting coating scaffolding and industrial HP cleaning areas.

11.nbspnbsp nbspEnsure that quality is maintained during the execution of the works and verifies that they are in line with Companyrsquos specifications and standards.

Job PurposeAs a Child Protection CP manager in todayrsquos Yemen Save the Children expects you to drive our north area program to be as coordinated efficient and handleable as possible in a context with rapid onsets of humanitarian emergencies while at same time ensuring programmatic focus is in place for the ongoing transitional development for strengthened national child protection systems currently including rollout of Child Protection in Emergencies CPiE and the minimum standards on child protection in humanitarian actions.nbspKey AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITYProgramme management development and coordination
bullnbspnbsp nbspLead on Child Protection Assessments with assistance from the CP Advisory and Save the Childrenrsquos CP staff are included in the joint interagency CPRAs as per agreement with the CP subcluster. Ensure child protection is adequately incorporated within multisector assessments in coordination with Save the Children colleagues as well as with UN andor government. Efficiently assist analysis reporting and sharing of assessment findings. As well assure that these findings are reflected in design revision and implementation of quality programming.
bullnbspnbsp nbspPrepare and oversee adequate implementation of all child protection programme components in central area. Ensure the timely delivery of quality actions with gender and equityfocus that actions reach the children most at risk that monitoring and reporting structures are in place as well as safe and build on communitybased and child participatory mechanisms. nbsp
bullnbspnbsp nbspEnsure that needs of child protection programme interventions continually are informed by and mainstreamed with other sectors in line with CPMS and inclusion is advocated for when needed. nbsp
bullnbspnbsp nbspClosely guide and mentor the concerned CP teams in nbspimplementation of communitybased mobile child protection units as well as in the districtbased Family centres to ensure that the delivery of childfriendly psychosocial support is interlinked with the case management procedures and child protection committees for monitoring as well as provision of both responsive and preventive actions to individual childrenrsquos protection needs in the highly conflictaffected communities and in the urban areas of concern .
bullnbspnbsp nbspProvide specific support to the ongoing development of Save the Childrenrsquos case management system in Yemen and assure that this is continuously complementary and in line with the simultaneous development of a national child protection case management system. This incorporates development of CP information management procedures and close strategic cooperation with MoSAL and UNICEF for durable child protection systems strengthening.
bullnbspnbsp nbspAs well provide ensure that Save the Childrenrsquos implementation of child resilience programming within our child protection programming is timely in place equitable operationalized and reported. In addition support the consequent capacitybuilding of child resilience to other CP counterparts in Yemen.
bullnbspnbsp nbspEnsure that Save the Children CP program staff continuously provides strategic support to the rollout of the CPiE and CP Minimum Standards in Yemen as part of the national initiative by the humanitarian CP subcluster and globally by the CPWG.
bullnbspnbsp nbspEmpower CP staff to develop innovative and adequate material for protection of girls and boys exposed to specific risks for their safety and wellbeing in line with the CPMS. Ensure that this material is based on child participatory approaches and in the best interest of the child for sharing with other CP counterparts and for advocacy on national as well as global levels.
bullnbspnbsp nbspAs well work in close coordination with Save the Childrenrsquos logistic unit for efficient and timely delivery of material including topup material for psychosocial support activities as well as setup of resiliencestrengthening child friendly areas in conflict affected communities e.g. playgrounds CFS structures etc.nbsp
bullnbspnbsp nbspMonitor and guide the capacity building of civil society organisations for managing planning and implementation of child protection programming. Support their capacity to systematically report on outcomes and impact as well as to strengthen their capability to broaden areas of interventions for longterm programming whilst including emergency preparedness and response.nbsp
bullnbspnbsp nbspEnsure that the minimum standards of humanitarian relief are maintained in accordance with the Sphere Charter and Red Cross Code of Conduct.Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting
bullnbspnbsp nbspEnsure that projects are monitored regularly and that data is collected on a weekly monthly and quarterly basis.nbsp
bullnbspnbsp nbspRegularly visit project sites to ensure that CP teams and partners are adequately supported. Make sure that monitoring and evaluation results are understood and used to improve programs.
bullnbspnbsp nbspWork closely with Save the Childrenrsquos MEAL team to ensure that efficient information management systems are in place for monitoring evaluation accountability and learning as well as being in line with the best interest of the child and other key principles of Save the Children. This includes capacity building of key child protection staff in the field to ensure that a productive reporting structure is in place handleable and based on participatory feedback mechanisms that can inform quality programming and learning.nbsp
bullnbspnbsp nbspExpand and update programme interventions in relation to changing contexts needs and as identified in our community and child participatory accountability monitoring systems e.g. using ideacuteacomplaint box procedures as a core part of programme monitoring for securing that appropriate actions are taking place and are in line with Save the Childrenrsquos child protection strategies for both humanitarian and development oriented work.
bullnbspnbsp nbspTake the initiative in documenting lessons learnt best practice and case studies to shape incountry strategies and programme approaches and contribute to broader sector learning.Fundraising and Advocacy

bullnbspnbsp nbspSupport knowledge sharing within CP teams and collaborate on regular basis with CP Program Managers in Save the Childrenrsquos north and south intervention areas in Yemen as well as with humanitarian CP counterparts in the country and regionally to share and use best practices.
